Action Auto (“we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, why, and the choices you have, in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

What we collect

• What you send us through a form: your name, phone number, email address, the vehicle you asked about and your message.
• Technical information needed to run and protect the site: your IP address and browser type, kept with a form submission to prevent spam and abuse. We also note which page you first arrived on and the site or ad that sent you, so we know which advertising works.
• If you apply for financing: your date of birth, address, housing, employment and income, the vehicle and budget you have in mind, and your consent to a credit check.

We never ask for your Social Insurance Number online.

Cookies and similar technology

This website sets no cookies of its own. With your permission, it uses Google Analytics (through Google Tag Manager) to measure visits. These services set cookies and receive your IP address and the pages you view. Nothing loads until you choose “Accept”, and “Reject” is just as easy; your choice is kept in your browser. You can change it any time with “Cookie choices” at the bottom of every page.

How we use it

• To answer your request: a question, a test drive, a trade-in or a financing enquiry.
• To send you emails about new arrivals and offers, only if you ticked the box to agree. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email, or by contacting us.
• If you apply for financing, to share the details you provide with lenders, with your consent, so they can make an offer.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who handles it

Your information is stored by our software provider, SmartDlr, on servers in North America, and used only to provide this service to us. Our staff see it only as needed to help you.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations, then delete them.

Finance applications are encrypted as soon as you send them, and only our finance managers can open them; every time one is opened is recorded. The financial details are deleted from this system automatically after 90 days; your name and contact details stay with your enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. Contact L'Emir Chehab at [email protected] or 519-457-2185.
