How do you work out what my car is worth?
We look at its year, kilometres and condition, and at what similar cars are selling for right now. We confirm the number when we see the car in person.
What if I still owe money on it?
That’s common, so just say so on the form. The balance on your loan is dealt with as part of the deal. If your car is worth more than you owe, the difference can go toward your next car. If you owe more, we’ll walk you through your options.
Does a trade-in lower the tax I pay?
In Ontario, when you buy from a dealer, HST is charged on the difference between the price of the car and the value of your trade-in, so a trade-in lowers the tax on your next car.
What should I bring?
Your ownership, your driver’s licence and all the keys. If there’s a loan on the car, bring the lender’s details. Service records help if you have them.
Does asking cost anything?
No. Asking for a number costs nothing, and nothing is final until you sign.
